چکیده

A study on the use of chemical conversion coating as a preparative technique for foam-based structured catalysts, in water gas shift reaction, is presented. The results showed significant correlation between textural properties structure and preparation technique, highlighting how suitable highly porous structures. In first part paper, performance two catalysts obtained by commercial aluminium foams, with different porosity, was compared. activity tests suggested that diffusion phenomena occurred case uncompressed foams. These were confirmed evaluating catalyst compressed 5 PPI pore size foam, which much higher activity, at same contact time, respect to corresponding non-compressed foam. Finally, an sponge, synthesized replication compared 40 sponge-based dependence structure: X-ray computed tomography images highlighted narrow distribution sizes presence “bottleneck type” connections sponge structure, are beneficial catalyst.

Gold–ceria catalysts for low-temperature water-gas shift reaction

Nanostructured Au–ceria is a promising new catalyst for low-temperature water-gas shift (LTS). Preparation, characterization, and catalytic properties of this material are reported in this paper. Gold–ceria was prepared by deposition–precipitation (DP), coprecipitation (CP), and gelation methods. The gold loading was varied between 1 and 8.3 at.%, while lanthanum used as a dopant in ceria, was ...

Low-content gold-ceria catalysts for the water–gas shift and preferential CO oxidation reactions

Low-content (<0.6 at.%) gold-ceria samples were prepared by one-pot synthesis by the urea gelation/co-precipitation method, and by sodium cyanide leaching of high-content (5 at.%) gold-ceria materials prepared by deposition–precipitation. These catalysts, containing cationic gold in ceria, are active for both the low-temperature water–gas shift (WGS) reaction and the preferential oxidation of C...

Water-gas Shift Reaction over Ceria-promoted Pt catalysts

Introduction The fuel processor in which hydrocarbon fuels can be converted into hydrogen has recently attracted much attention as a result of the advancement in the fuel cell technology. In a fuel processor, the water-gas shift (WGS) reaction plays a crucial role in the transformation of CO, a well-known poisonous gas to electrode of fuel cell, into hydrogen through reaction with steam. In WGS...

Cobalt Loading Effects on the Structure and Activity for Fischer-Tropsch and Water-Gas Shift Reactions of Co/Al2O3 Catalysts

An extensive study of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) on alumina-supported cobalt catalysts with different amounts of cobalt is reported. Up to 40 wt % of cobalt, is added to the catalysts by impregnation method. The effect of the cobalt loading on the reducibility of the cobalt oxide species, dispersion of the cobalt, average clusters size, water-gas shift (WGS) activity and activity and s...

Unique properties of ceria nanoparticles supported on metals: novel inverse ceria/copper catalysts for CO oxidation and the water-gas shift reaction.

Oxides play a central role in important industrial processes, including applications such as the production of renewable energy, remediation of environmental pollutants, and the synthesis of fine chemicals. They were originally used as catalyst supports and were thought to be chemically inert, but now they are used to build catalysts tailored toward improved selectivity and activity in chemical...
